Check Engine Light / Won't Shift ???
I have a 1995 F-150 extended cab with just a little over 200K. 5.0 / automatic trans.
This truck has had several issues, I just bought it. Throwing codes for TPS, EGR, etc...
I fixed all the issues and codes except for one nagging problem. The truck runs great when it's cold. Once it warms up, when I stop the truck and turn it off, upon restarting the truck the check engine light comes on and the truck won't shift out of first gear. After a short period of time, maybe one to two minutes, the light goes out and the truck runs and shifts great until I turn it off and restart the truck, then it duplicates the problem.
The light won't stay on long enough to grab a code. The truck runs super good unless you shut it down, restart and head down the road.
I tried to manually shift it, but only had 1st and 2nd gear until the check engine light goes out.
Any ideas?

You haven't described the truck nearly enough. Click this & read the caption:

Codes don't identify parts - they identify FAULTS, so don't pick a word or 2 out of the definition. Read, understand, & post each code's number & its COMPLETE definition. Preferably from several lists. Mine is in this caption:

It's long, but read the whole caption, which includes a TSB about CEL with no DTC. But just because the CEL goes off, that doesn't mean the code is gone - the DTC stays in memory until cleared, or for ~100 key cycles.
If the fault affects the transmission, expect to see some 6XX codes. This shows how the E4OD works, and the 4R70W is very similar:

Finally: how are the cruise & speedo?
