gradually restoring dad's 95 f150 xlt 4.9 truck. 205k miles. radiator needs replaced. QUESTION: is this something a non-mechanic type can do? not afraid to get hands dirty and give it at try but is it worth the savings? can get radiator from lmc for $ 200ish. or, should i find reliable radiator shop (not the dealer) and have them do it?

how many hours does it take and do i need special tools other than standard wrenches? i do have haynes manual. thank you for any help!

 

Have you READ your Haynes manual? Specifically: the part about R&Ring the radiator? Eventually, you need to read it cover-to-cover.
