To buy or not to buy? 88 F250

So I've got a chance to buy an 88 F250 with a 351 Windsor 4 barrel carb, 4wd, 5-speed manual transmission on a 13-inch lift with 39 inch super swampers and little to no rust.

I talked the guy down to $2,500.

The truck has some steering play and leaks power steering fluid. It will likely need a new gear box soon. The header gasket on the passenger side will also need to be replaced soon.

With that being said, what do you think? Worth the money?

Please note that I have no skills whatsoever when it comes to wrenching on my own cars. Motorcycles, yes, but cars, not in the slightest, so I'd most likely be taking this to the shop for fixes or finding someone to do it on the side for me.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Love the forums, just never signed up until today.

Thanks,
Jim

Don't buy it if you don't have wrenching skills, unless you have fat wallet. Carbureted, it will be a gas hog.
My 88 E150 351W had fuel injection.

With a 13 inch lift and 39's not only will it be a single digit gas hog, it will be a total dog and will require constant attention.

Agreed.....the lift and tire size indicates that this thing was a toy and toys like this get abused.
