1995 F150 New Clutch Issue

I just put a new transmission (Mazda 5 speed), slave cylinder, throw out bearing, clutch an pressure plate in my truck. Made sure all the fluids were full and everything was tight. Went to push in the clutch and there wa no resistance an the clutch stuck to the floor. Figured there was air in the line and bled it twice. Still no clutch. When depressed fully there is enough to start the truck but not to shift. I'm lost as to why this would be happening. No visible leaks. Any help I appreciated.

Reverse bleed it with a pump-style oil can filled with brake fluid connected to the bleeder with a rubber hose and with the cap off the reservoir. Did you replace the pilot bearing and resurface the flywheel?

That style of slave & master are very difficult to bleed completely. Not as bad as the '84-91 style, but still bad.

. . .

And it may NEVER bleed if there's any wear on the clutch cross-shaft bushings, OR the lever (which should be replaced after everything else is fixed).

You will have to replace the clutch master cylinder. look under the dash where the clutch pedal rod is at the fire wall. see if its wet. In some of the masters is a black rubber booty, A lot of guys pour the fluid into the boot, not the tank????

Hope you used your stock flywheel and not from the Mazda, could cause your problem too. Never swapped out a stock trans.

Replaced the master cylinder yesterday. Bled the clutch and pumped the pedal about 100 times after bleeding. Got it to shift but today it's back to the way it was. No clutch.

No, the only thing I could find that would work was $50 and I'll be broke until payday. I think I'm going to rig up a bottle to do it.

Got 10 bucks?

http://www.walmart.com/ip/16551061?w...972752&veh=sem

That's all you need, along with a short piece of vacuum hose. If Walmart doesn't stock that exact item, they should have something similar. So will any hardware or auto parts store.

Did you read the captions of the pics I posted? If you don't see them, change your forum settings to show all images.

The only time I have ever heard of this kind of thing happening, was when using the wrong parts. Miss matched! If using internal bearing slave unit Its a real basic system, Throw out bearing slave assembly is self adjusting to the Cover(pressure Plate fingers) People have had problems when connecting the snap in line to the T.O. Bearing assembly. If not put in correctly, your clutch pedal will not work correctly. If it is leaking, you will have to put the trans out again. I would check all the parts numbers to make sure the auto parts guy DIDN'T YOU THE WRONG PARTS for your job! Wouldn't be the first time I have had that happen.
