carb swap for efi

HI there.

Work is slowly moving along on my 54. Next month of two I will be installing an 1992 302 block with the aod 4 speed auto. It is from a f150.

I'm going to go with a carb instead of the computer fuel injection.

Is there any real problems I should be aware of. Does the tranny need the computer?

thanks

AOD doesn't need the computer but it does need a TV cable. Without the computer you need a mechanical distributor with vacuum advance, properly curved and timed. Carb obviously needs to be properly jetted and I'd remove and block off the EGR. For best results, you probably should put a different non-emissions cam in it.

Thanks glc.
It is my intent to put a performance cam in it, a few other mods. Going to go old school motor with this custom.

So far it has a crown vic ifs, a dana 40 with 355 posi. A fiberglass front end. still, so far to go. In the next week or two the cab will be reinstalled, so then the brakes, and eletrical will start. New green tint glass. So far the color of choice is a very pale yellow.
