Exclamation 1979 F150 Ranger 351 Engine Rebuild

I recently picked up a pretty clean 1979 F150 Ranger. The VIN is F15HCDJ8770 for anyone interested in offering helpful advice. My PCV valve is spewing oil out my breather. I was hoping to avoid any major repairs to the truck until late spring as I work 80hr.+ weeks currently. I have a friend who runs an auto body shop near my town that took a look at my truck. He suggested a rebuild of the 351 I have in there to fix the problem, rather than throwing an aftermarket breather that plugs up the PVC valve, which would only be a temporary band-aid.

My next question is that since the engine is mostly stock, I'm looking for recommendations as to which parts I should replace with aftermarket components. My goal is to keep the truck running another 10+ years. I have no interest in making it a performance vehicle or show truck. It is my daily driver, and I want to keep it running for as long as possible.
