Hey guys I'm another new guy to the site and was looking for some help. I have a 92 f150 with a 300 5 speed (M50D I think) 4x4. It has 226k on it. I also have a 93 with a 302 automatic 2wd with only 70k miles with frame damage. I know everything will hook up and I have everything that will hook up to swap the 302 in but will I need a different transfer case adapter or can I use the one on the 300 now? Will I need different perches? They look different. Also do I need to change anything under the dash to make the 302 run right? They have the same wiring harnesses that bolt up to the firewall. I am swapping the dashes over anyways because the 302 was an xlt and the 300 a custom
but I would rather not mess with the
wiring if possible. Any help at all would be appreciated. Also both motors are EFI.

 

The wiring harnesses for these models were pretty straight forward; I just swapped a 351w into my 1995 which had come with a 302. I just used the wiring harness from the 351 and it was a plug and play... The only thing I had to change was my exhaust, but it sounds like you have an extra anyway if need be. Also, My 351 came out of a 2wd truck and my truck is 4x4; As long as your bell housing bolts up correctly (tranny to engine), and your motor mounts are the same, you should not have to mess around with the transfer case. At least not to my knowledge.
