1978 ford problems

I have a 1978 f150 with a 351 Windsor. Original carburetor is bad and I want to replace with a new one. Any suggestions on what would be the best option would be appreciated.

On or Off road?

On road, a nice Edelbrock Aluminum intake and Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel carb will be an excellent setup. Doesn't do great off road but, doesn't necessarily suck either. Just better for on road (less bumps) applications in my humble opinion. Easy enough to rebuild. Easy to rejet. Ran this setup several times on my early broncos.

Off road, need a carb that's specifically setup for off road abuse. Deep bowels

Holley makes a replacement carb for the Motorcraft 2bbl. Why not just install a kit in the factory carb?
