Lightbulb Fuel Filter??

Hey all! New guy here. I have an 88 F150 302EFI. Ive been Bumper to Bumper on this pig and I swear I have No Fuel Filter?? Im not the original owner so im not sure of the Trucks History. Am I Crazy?? Am I missing something? I have read of a Filter in the Fuel Reservoir?. This is my first Truck and im lost! Any help is good help..

Have you checked the driver's side frame rail? While I can't speak specifically for the 1988, every modern-era Ford truck I can remember working on placed the fuel filter there.

The 86 I had was on the frame rail right under the drivers seat. As I remember correctly, it had a sheet metal cover over it and I assume that was to keep it from getting hit by something. YMs after that, like a 91 was in the same location but no cover.

It has the reservoir then a high pressure pump along the frame rail and thats it. Totally boggled my mind.

Im not 100% sure it has it original engine as ive come across some issues with new parts but i would assume the filter would be there just like all other fords

Removed second thread as only one thread allowed per subject. Just gets too confusing for posters.

Did you check on the inside of the frame, right under the driver's seat? This is the normal place.
