300 towing capacity

Hi fella's,
Been a while since I posted here but I have a question for some of the "old heads". I have a 95 F-150 2WD with the 300 I6 and 5 speed OD tranny. The truck is in excellent condition with 110K, is whisper quiet inside and uses no oil. Final gearing is 3.55 with LT 30/9.50-15s. My question: is towing a 3500 lb. trailer out of the question. Have my eye on a particular trailer but have no desire to hurt the truck. I expect to go slow over the passes. How much weight would you guys pull with this truck?

Thanks

You should be okay - I believe 3500# is the limit with the M5OD tranny. Drive carefully, shift slowly and carefully, the M5OD is known for its weak input shaft. The engine can handle it just fine, but slowly.
