got spark & fuel but no start
#1
Hey there,
I have a 1990 ford f150 with a 302. It was running great and I changed the lower intake manifold gasket and now it won't start. It has 36 psi fuel pressure at the rail and good spark. Also checked the timing with a light with spout plug removed while cranking and it was good. Any ideas?

Spark, fuel, air = combustion. Something either isn't plugged in or you have a bad component somewhere. You could try and check the actual injectors... I had a camaro once that had good pressure at the rail, but a few of the injectors weren't firing. Worth a shot. I simply just pulled the injector out enough to see if I could see/smell fuel coming out of the injector one by one. Long process, but tracked the issue down.

My son's '90 F-150 with the 302 died while driving one day. When he tried to restart he could hear the fuel pump kick on but no luck. We ended up having it towed. We had to replace the ICM - ignition control module. I don't know if this could be your problem too? Good luck.
