Hey guys so iv got a 1991 f 150 4x4 with auto locking hubs lifted and i was driving the other day and i started to hear grinding noises from the front of the truck. i looked under the hood and under the body for any signs of rub or grind or anything and i cant seem to find anything so i said o well maybe itll go away. then the other day i took it out of 5 mins and as i was driving it had gotten worse then sounded like something broke off and about 1 min later my brake pedal went to the floor as i tryd to stop i had about 1/2 inch of brakes and the pedal would rise again. also my parking brake for the rear tires still work so. Any body have any advice.... ive looked all over and cant find any leaks or rubs or shaving or anything. thanks in advance

 

Dude....don't drive anymore!!!! Pull the wheels and check he brake pads and rotors!!!!! Sounds like your pads are falling apart!!!

 

ya i wasnt planning on driving it till i fixed it sorry if it sounded that way im probably gonna take the tires off today and check it out ill let you know what i find out.

 

Check the inner and outer hub bearings as well.

 

so definitely the bearings the housing for the inner is just .... missing bearing just floating destroyed mid fix hopefully finish tomorrow but turns out someone prior mixed lubricants and well don't do that causes big problems.
