hi im new to the forum and new to 5.0 always had 4.9s. I recently got a little island beater truck for free from neighbor. my neighbor was having issues starting the truck the usually solenoid problem, so i told him to jump the solenoid with a toggle switch for starting. He ended up putting in a push button and got engine to crank over. After installation now when you turn the key nothing happens no fuel pump, radio, blinkers, heater, odometer or console lights that run of key switch. trying to figure out what the cause could be. He already replaced key switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you very much.

 

Chiltons online can give u the wiring diag. Don't ever bypass the keys witch. I did it on 78 chevy and it would start on it's own. And I'm no dummie . I can give u the link to Hilton's if u want

thanks i ll check and see if i can find a wiring diamgram online. I do have power to hazard lights which baffles me since no power to blinkers or horn right on steering wheel.

 

There is a wire unhooked at the solenoid. It feeds power to the ignition and dash
