1995 f-150

I have a 1985 f-150. I'm getting 10 to 11 mpg town driving. I understand yeah it's an older truck. If I put like a 2 inch lift on it or even 33 would it change my gas millage a lot ? Truck has 31's on it now. Is there any way to get better mpg ? I simply wanna out the lift on so it sits higher. The hitch is so low it makes it very hard to haul things because when you get weight the tongue almost hits the ground. Any options ?

Might drop you around 1-2 mpg depending on how you drive, tire width, and tire tread pattern.

You could always get gears installed to help recoup a little bit of the mileage loss and power loss, but it'll take a long time before the cost of gears cancels out the amount of mpg lost.

Any amount of lift or bigger tires will lower the mileage. You want better mileage, drop it and put small tires on it.

Yeah, I think I'll just haul this summer with it how it is and maybe even flip my hitch over, then when I save up the money buy a newer truck. It's kinda dump to put money in asuch an older truck.

Pull the drawbar out of the receiver when you aren't actually towing.

Meh, I leave triple ***** and pintles in my trucks all the time to keep little cars from getting to the bumper.

The only time it's in is when I'm hauling but it still sits really low compared to my dads 2003 f150 and we have the same tires just my rims are smaller
