Looking a buying a 92, some questions
So I took one for a test drive. Body & interior are in excellent shape considring the age, esp the interior, no rips, tears, sags, etc. Dash is a little worn, but my questions are mechanical related.
During the test drive, at steady speeds; like 35, it kinda hesitates I guess is the word. No problems holding speed, or acceleration; but it feels kinda 'jerky'. And when it droped into OD it was a real hard shift.
Other than those it seems pretty good; no noticable leaks. Looks like a 5.0 engine, dual tanks (the switch is flopping around in the dash), tiny bit of body rust.
Dealer has it listed at $1995.
Good deal? It'll be a backup vehicle for me, and for my girls first vehicle in a few months.
Anything else to look at?

sounds like a good deal wheni bought my 93 it would shift hard into OD and bog down around 35 like yours but i never fixed it i just built everything so i dont have those problems. i think it is a combination of the TC locking at 30 then going into OD at 35 it will kinda make it "hesitate" even though nothing maybe wrong.9mine did it, it ran fine.)these are real reliable trucks.
