Which Radiator?

1990 F150 / I6-300 / 4x4 / Manual T / No AC

My radiator is leaking so it's time to replace it. Should I go with a one or two core? Any recommendations on brand and where to purchase it? Also, is there anything unusual about doing the install?

Thanks!
Nabor J

Get the one from summit racing its all aluminum dual core made right here in the USA! Fir about 350 bucks. Since you a manual trans its as simple as UN bolting two bolts at the top and draining it on the passenger side at the bottom of the Rad. be sure to clean the block out real good its probably full of dirty rust refill with a good 50/50 mix real green antifreeze and run and top off as needed!

350 bucks for a radiator in a 24 year old truck, when you can buy a decent generic radiator for $100?

I agree with glc. Sometimes the only benefit of USA made is an increase in price. I've had a 100 dollar Mexican special in my truck for a couple years now with no problems. That being said, I would not use Chinese garbage, it's only ever problems.

I see where you are coming from but I like to put the best parts on my truck when I can. Nothing wrong with generic brands I just wouldn't buy one unless I had too

I hear ya, sometimes budget overrides pride, though. nabor, rock auto has pretty good choices at reasonable prices, just do a little home work, and you'll get what you need.

What brand?

Who makes the Mexican-made radiator? Based on research so far, I'm looking at Vista Pro or Spectra, each going for about $100.

Thanks again,

Why not just go to O'Reilly and buy their lifetime warranty Murray? Single row is $115.99 and 2 row is $129.99. With a lifetime warranty, if you have an issue it's a lot easier getting it repaired or replaced locally than have to deal with mail order service.

All the other parts you have been asking about in your other threads, I'd consider the same thing. O'Reilly is a lot nicer to deal with than Autozone and their house brand stuff is generally better quality.
