5 speed manual trans ?

my haynes says it takes 7.6 quarts. i let it drain from the lower plug for a couple hours yesterday. today picked up 2 gal. of marcon and got 1 gal. 3/4 quart in before it would spill out what i squirted in the plug marked fill. that's 3 quarts less then haynes says. what am i missing here? ain't moving anywhere soon as i am doing a sloooow siphon out of the 90 weight in the differential, but would like to close it all up as its Sunday today.

You are reading the manual wrong. That's 7.6 PINTS.

shouldn't have put my rat fink shift *** on it the day i got the truck

ran the numbers on the transmission . i have a 4 speed with overdrive , aka 4.6 quarts needed. the skunk juice took 6 hours to siphon out. cap wasn't leaking so did not want to unbolt it to do the complete drain.

In your F-150? That is the M5OD-R2. "Four speed with overdrive" is kinda a weird way of saying it. Could be also worded as three speed under drive, one speed direct drive, and one speed over drive.

Anyway, I'm usually done in ten minutes changing out the 4 or so quarts with just undoing the drain plug, and using a suction gun into the fill plug. Why 6 hours?

The only manual available in a 95 F-150 that I'm aware of is the M5OD-R2 which is 7.6 pints.

Correct on that if he is talkin' about a '95. '92-'93 was the last year for the T-19 in a half ton.
