AMSOIL or ROYAL PURPLE?
#5
There's absolutely nothing remarkable about RP except the color, which also happens to be the most expensive component in the bottle. If extended oil changes are the goal, Amsoil is it. If not, G Oil is tops, even over Amsoil or M1 or any of the other supposed synthetics. It's a 100% ester based oil. That means it has far tougher film strengths than any other. The additive package is second to none. At 30 bucks for 5 qts at Walmart, it's a bargain. BUT, do not run it in an engine that sees limited use. No ester based oil handles condensation very well. An engine that makes short trips should not use it -too much water condensate. In a 93 302, if that's what you have, change every 7500 miles. You can probably go farther but I'd only suggest it after getting an oil report.

Amsoil!
Without question AMSOIL!
AMSOIL beats Royal Purple in nearly every lab verifiable category.
In the interest of fairness, I must disclose that I've been an AMSOIL dealer for over 12 years and I run it in every fluid application in my truck (motor oil, ATF, differential, power steering, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc.) except fuel and in that I even use AMSOIL PI!
