Was a nightmare but finally got a 92-96!

I've been looking at the older bodystyles for so long, definatley my favorite style f150 and broke my 2000 in the mud a few times. Finally found what I was looking for, its a 93 f150, 5.0, auto, 4x4 ext cab short bed. Has after market rims and HAD 33x12.5s with 75-80% tread

truck was an hour from home, left at 1:15, got home around 11 at night

when I first bought it

15 minutes into my drive one tire just explodes, like a big clean slice threw side wall

Then a second tire blows the same way leaving me stuck on 287 for hours finally got it towed home

^thats in my drive way, that tire there is just an old explorer spare, otherwise it would of been on the truck

But atleast its home now, I need to put a better battery in it, a new steering column, do some body work, and the plan is a d44 solid axle swap (d60 swap would be way over my head)

Shucky-Durn sounds like some luck there. dont let it get to ya, just find some quality tires to throw on. and look at it this way, now you get to do it your way!

Those look like some really old Cooper tires. Nice find though, I've been looking for a 90-96 in decent shape.

Nice. You're diggin right in.
What's your plan of attack for the axle swap? Just coils and radius arms?

I see. You will need some stiff springs with a 4" or have to notch the engine cross member so the differential doesn't hit.

may just cut it up or remove and replace, have 4" springs already but I want to go bigger so selling those now, going for 6-6.5 inch bds springs then Ill use the stock coil bucket/shock tower and I should get about 7-7.5" of lift. Just looking for good price 4.10s now because the 10.25 im putting in the rear has 4.10s. Lots of little crap to do

for any one near nj, the rims on this truck are for sale now, they are westin 15" rims real deep dish the 33x12.5s stick out looks real good, as you guys no the tires are no good but rims are have em on central jersey craigslist for 600 obo but for any one on here Ill start at 500

Good idea on the springs. Getting em from bronco graveyard?
Also, those wheels aren't worth anywhere near that much.. you could get em for 500 new

Posting these up for 2 reasons
1. I'm finally making progress
2. Most importantly, wanted to make sure my supermotors account worked for posting pictures

getting close to swapping a 10.25 in the rear, need to remove rear axle and such, finish rust removal, paint then Ill have the rear in, maybe a month from now the 44 will be under the front and ready to go (hopefully)

Ill probably wind up making an sas thread if any one is interested in following the build who knows well see
