4.88 gears in TTB HELP!!!

I am tryin to install 4.88 gears into the fronT of my 95 f150 that still has the dana 44 ttb .....im running into issues setting it up..we cant get a good patteren and i have shimmed it like crazy and now that i have shimmed the pinion up. the pinion now hits the carrier ..is there something im missing or have any of you done this setup ......

any help is appreciated

The D44 uses one carrier for ratios up to and including 3.54 and a different carrier for ratios higher than 3.54.
