93 harmonic balancer 5.0

Ok first time to attemp harmonic balancer replacement. It seems the rubber that is between the outside and inside pieces have gone away. Now the outside piece just spins and makes alot of noise. Can it be driven this way for a little bit till we get around to repairing or should it be done right away?

How do I replace the balancer? WHat about when using a puller how do I stop the crankshaft from turning?

whatdo u mean by inside n out side are u talkin between the balancer n pully or between the balancer and timing cover

to remove balancer
u remove belt then take the 3 or 4 bolts holding the pullys on the ballancer off and pull the pully off then take the center bolt out then get the puller n just pull it off.

if u use an inpact wrench u woulnt have a problem with it turnin

Do I have to pull the radiator or is there room to work?
Thanks for your quick reply.

the 2 pieces i am assuming is the pully for the belt ant the balancer and if that u only have to pull the pully. but ive never seen a piece of rubber between them
