Arrghhhh. Rear tank is overfilling the front tank. Time to snip some lines (see pic)

My 1995 has got that rear-tank-filling-front-tank issue that I've been reading about here on the forums. It's dumping gas out the front filler like crazy when I drive so I'm in desperate need of a temp fix. I really don't have the cash right now for a new FDM (I try to switch to the front tank, the engine sputters and misses - gasping for gas).

Can I just plug the two front tank lines off (see pic)? If so, what's the best way to plug them?
