32x11.50 Tire on a 7.5 inch rim?

A tire shop tried to tell me today that they couldn't mount 32x11.50 tires on my 7.5 inch stock F150 rims because there would be premature center wear... I'm 90% sure they're just trying to sell me rims. I'm thinking about just going to another shop, or is there truth to what they are saying?

It should be ok. Just watch the tire pressure and wear pattern. FWIW ranger guys are running 32x11.5 on 15x7's

This has been discussed innumerable times. Do a search.
The tire manufacturers all say that those tires require an 8"-10" rim width.
If you air them down enough to eliminate the premature wear in the center of the tread they will run hotter and will be less stable. They may be more prone to unseating the bead in an emergency handling situation

yes, they are right... no it will not matter, ha ha. yes it will wear, however not enough to rush out buying new rims, most often the driving style will wear more tread then anything,.. simply smaller rims push the tire in causing the center to push out farther, however, its miniscule difference, and its a "money" maker.. go somewhere else an just have it done.. most often times any way money can be made money shall be made.. "do it yourself-ers" are the smartest people I know, knowledge is money.. good luck!

I used to run that tire size on my ranger and I believe it was a 15x7 you just have to keep an eye on the wear and run proper pressure.

Would a half of an inch really make that much of a difference. If the tire says 8"-10", 7.5" should be okay if watched like everyone says here. Could always just find a cheap pair of steels if these are winter rims that are 8".
