Hi, this is my first official post....I just bought a 1990 F150 and in order for it to pass the safety inspection I have to correct the high beam light being stuck on. Can anyone point me in the right direction to rememdy this? It appears the foot switch is stuck down and won't "unpress" to the low beam setting. The dash also has the high beam indicator.

Pull up the carpet take the switch out and spray it with wd 40 and try to work it on and off.

 

Just buy a new switch. They're cheap, common, & easy-to-change. Even TSC sells them, so any parts store will, too.

 

I picked up a new one today, yea it looks easy but I'll hold my breath till it's in.

 

Make sure it clicks on & off before you install it.

 

mine did the same thing but my carpet was binding up in it so i trimed it and had no problem

 

Fixed. Very easy, I just replaced the switch.
