fuel prob? please help 87 f150

Unhappy fuel prob? please help 87 f150

my 87 f150 302 fuel injected truck has been sitting for a year and now it wont start it does have spark at plugs and coil and i hear fuel pump cutting on what else could it b? please help

Runs on starting fluid?

Check the fuel pressure at the rail, check the fuel filter.

That truck has at least 2 electric fuel pumps, so hearing 1 isn't necessarily enough. Find out WHICH pump(s) is running by jumpering the DLC, turning the key to RUN, and crawling under the truck.

i only hear the high pressure pump on the frame cutting on i dont think i have enough fuel pressure i took a screwdriver to the shrader valve on my 96 f250 and im getting a lot more fuel shooting out of it than the 87. thanks 4 the input and help

That's meaningless - the only way to check fuel pressure is with a fuel pressure gauge.

But start by unplugging the frame pump, and repeating the test above (on both tanks). If you don't hear the tank pump, check its wires with a 12V test light or a meter.
