89 wipers and gas gauge

well a couple other problems with the 89 i talked about early..it is running fine now but just 2 lil problems that annoy me..well the wipers dont work..the boy told me that they just need hooked..something like just run a ground and a hot to the battery..now im no wiring guy and not really sure what to do on that..and another thing is the gas gauge..it always reads full..it did work but just stopped at some point..im thinking it probly stopped whenever they changed the bed on it..so ideas on how to fix these things? im sure its probly something simple but i dont know

Get a Haynes manual, pull the instrument cluster bezel, and test the wiper switch wiring. Have you checked all the fuses? Does the **** turn the wrong way (interval)?

For the gas gauge, read this caption:
