Timing advance

How much timing advance can you get away with on these engine? stock is 10 degrees BTDC. 14-15 BTDC acceptable?

Probably, if you run high octane gas. Listen for spark knock, if it knocks, retard it till it stops.

You need to post the year of your truck and the engine in your signature. It makes a difference.
If you have a knock sensor it will pull out timing long before you can hear it knock.

True - and if it's the 99 in your profile the timing is computer controlled and not adjustable.

Im not sure why my signatures didnt show up there. Kinda weird.

Ya i have the 99 handled. Timing isnt to much of an issue on it with a programmer.

Truck im talking about is a 1993 bronco 351w. SD truck.
