checking for codes

Hello again guy's. Here is my other dilema, i went to check for codes with my obd 2 and for the life of me i could not find the conector to the ecm or ecu. any ideas of where is located? thanks again.

Thats because our trucks are OBD1, you can pull the codes yourself, the check engine light will blink at you. Let me go find a diy on how to do it....

Well I guess to clarify it'll depend on your year of truck, but in this section, if you are going to pull codes, that would be the way to do it. anything newer would be obd 2, which you have a scanner for, and anything older won't have codes.

Then yea, follow those steps, it's easy. short a wire to ground, then turn ignition on, then count the amount of times the check engine light blinks. Thats the basic idea, the link explains it fully
