Tailgate trim panel clips

I have a 1994 F150 XLT. It has a perfect tailgate and trim panel. Probelm is the 3 big black clips that hold the trim panel to the tailgate are broken and Ford says that they don't carry these.
Anyone know where I can get them? Thanks, Terry

They're exceptionally hard to find in useable condition in junkyards because the plastic hardens & shatters when you touch it. Broncos use a metal clip, so you might try modifying some for your pickup, or fabricating something similar.

RE: Tailgate trim panel clips

Thanks Steve83.
You're telling me they're hard to find... I've called everywhere.
If I can find some metal ones from a Bronco, I might just be able to rig up something. Still, I would prefer it be right.

I'd call it "right" if it holds the thing on & lasts. Look at it this way: if you make it work with the Bronco clip, you're still using a Ford fullsize truck t/g trim panel clip.

It's fixed

I was able to cut some 4 inch lengths of heavy flat garage door hanger and glue them to the clips with black RTV adhesive. I then was able to put the clips back into the grooves at the top and bottom of the panel and put the panel back on and it is holding beautifully. I tried to pull one of them apart and it's not giving.
Thanks for the advice though.

I'll try to take the panel back off this weekend and get some pics to post.
Gotta a full day Saturday going to a local mud run in New Bloomfield, MO.
