totaled my 93 F150 tonight

just totalled my 93 f150 tonight. it is the 5.0 XLT. the truck was in excellent condition. now, the whole front end is done..both fenders, hood, etc...
what is the best way to get money out of it? part it out and ship stuff or just send to the wrecking yard? not sure what to do with it now. thanks

oh, and no one was hurt in either vehicle.

Glad nobody was hurt. Any pics? I would try to put it in a local advertiser like Craigslist or something of the sort.

While the insurance company is doing their thing, it would be smart to start getting a list together so you can let the insurance company know as much as possible about the truck. The more you give them the more money it'll be worth in the settlement.

I just went through this ordeal and the insurance had one number with their person just guessing what was on the truck and I gave her the list of everything that was on the truck. It ended up being worth it, they came back with several thousand more in their second settlement attempt.

Glad everybody involved is ok.

glad no one was injured, if you have full coverage the insurance company may offer you a settlement and then gie you option to buy it back if you want to part it out or they take it and sell it auction

i think the insurance company is going to keep it. i have the option to buy it back but then i have to pay for salvage title, etc.. and deal with trying to advertise to part it out to get my money back. i will let you know if i decide to keep it though.

my wife wrecked my escort in the fall last year, and state farm totaled it and asked me if i wanted to keep it and of course i did, so they cut me a check for 3 or 4 hundred less than it was 'worth' to make up for the salvage value. i never got a new title or anything, heck it stayed insured through them while i fixed it, well i still aint painted it.......possibly soon.lol
