'89 F250 O2 sensor wires?
Hey folks:
My dog chewed the O2 sensor lead wire in half while trying to get a squirrel under my truck. It's an '89 F250 with the 5.8L motor.
The O2 lead has 1 black and 2 white wires. I need to twist the wires back together, but I'm not sure about the whites. Anybody know about this? Does it matter which white from the O2 sensor connects to which white wire on the chassis? Can I do some sort of test with a multi-meter to figure this out?
The wires are still attached properly to the O2 sensor.
Thanks.

Yes, it matters. Using a digital multimeter, test resistance from each wire to the sensor's case. 2 should be open (infinitely high resistance/out-of-range). The other wire is the sensor, and goes to DG/Pu. The other 2 are the heater, and it doesn't really matter which is which. Don't twist the DG/Pu wires together. Try to solder them with some heat-shrink tubing. If you can't, use a crimp-on butt connector.
