1993 in dash radio removal!
I have an OEM radio that I want to replace. The front cover panel has 4 very tiny holes at the corners. I assume this is the mounting screws or tabs. I need some input on the removal process. The newer CD/FM radio is a Sony that requires a new harness but it says that for my model does not need a new mounting assembly kit. Is there anyone who has input for this?

Wow man, that was a great question, it really helped with mine. I have had tghe same problem and now I know You guys are the greatest...I am in love...now its a love hate...I am missing my glove box(beceause of an tempremental 9 year old I drive around) and I can see two clips that hold the stereo in. When you insert said long and pointy it SHOULD push the clips in, which allows you to pull it out. When I push the coat hanger in, it pushes the clips out making it harder to pull out....I need a tool anyone mind telling me where I can buy one(wally does not have one and no one I know drivres a ford that would have it)
Would a motorize face plate(that pops out and slides down specifially a dual XD7500N) work with my pick-up. I noticed that it has the XLT trim and the OEM HU there is a a problem with space. I cant realyl explain it, but the radio sits in the pocket and would a new HU stick out far enough to allow the face plate to drop down?
THANKS

BTW
All trim levels have the same dash pad that protrudes above the radio.
