So, how often does this happen
Howdy!
Great website!
So, how often does this happen?
In April of 1996, my dad bought a 1994 Ford F-150 with 16,000 miles on it. It was in perfect condition, dark blue with gold on the bottom, "Eddie Bauer" stickers on the rear of the bed, Mocha interior with wood grain on the dash.
This truck was fully loaded...a long bed, dual tank, single cab...I loved this truck from day one. I was 13 years old when my dad bought the truck. I learned how to drive in this truck, and my dad was working in China for 6 months back in 1999...while he was gone, this was "my truck" and I absolutely loved it...used to drive it to school, and just loved it.
He came home, he got his truck back, I got a different car a few years later.
While he had the truck, due to a long commute, he had a camper shell installed, a carpet kit installed in the bed, and lowered the truck 4 inches. He did this mainly so he could sleep in the back after work. He took the truck on many road trips, and it was always good to us.
In 2004, he sold the truck to a co-worker. Well, last night I was thinking about getting rid of my current vehicle, so I was looking around online, and found the very same truck my dad had...I called the current owner up, and he said that he will cut me a deal since it's going back to "the original owner" so to speak.
The truck has a 302, and the transmission was replaced in 2003--doesn't have too many miles on it since the current owner really hasn't driven the truck much since he's owned it. He said that since he's owned it, he replaced the water pump, and the heater core.
The beauty of this is that I know the history of the truck...and it has major sentimental value to me. It DOES have 195,000 miles on it, however.
I really want this truck, and it still looks, sounds, runs, and drives excellent. Think I should jump on it?
Thanks
Earl
