300 Inline Exhaust

Are there any Good sounding exhaust systems for the inline-6? I listened to a bunch of them on Youtube and they all sounded like crap. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, I live in California so the whole cutting everything off and having straight pipes is out of the question. If it makes any difference, an 89' F-150 is wrapped around the motor.

Not much you can do. I just "straight piped" one, and it isn't much louder, or better than the glasspack that was on it. A straight six engine just doesn't have the exhaust balance that makes it sound good. If you don't like the sound of a Flowmaster, I can't recommend much else. Especially in California.

That was almost quieter than factory.

flowmaster is the only exhaust that sounds good on any 6cyl engine IMO. my brothers jeep has a si/so version of my muffler(knockoff flowmaster) and it sounds exactly like my truck(5.0 v8) at idle but when he revs it, it still sounds like a 6cyl.

I installed an Edelbrock RPM cat-back on my truck, and love it. No one ever believes it's a straight six until I open the hood. It's not obnoxious, but it sounds much, much better than it did stock. Much better. It's mellow at idle, but gets throaty as you accelerate. The trick is that you have to order the kit for the 5.0L, or at least you did when I got mine several years ago, because they don't offer one for the 4.9L, even though it's a perfect fit.
