Front Brakes On 95 F150 4WD

I'm doing the front brakes on my truck and have to replace the front rotors. I have the automatic locking hubs. i've gotten the locking hubs out. but now i can't seem to get the wheel bearing locknut, lock ring or adjusting nut. it says in my haynes manual to stop by the local parts store to get the lockwrench tool, however no one seems to know what i'm talking about. Any ideas????

Unless they changed since since then, I didn't think you needed to do all that to replace the rotors. On my '89 Bronco you only have to remove the caliper. Only difference is mine has manual hubs, not sure if that makes a difference.

on my 93 you have to remove the 4x4 hubs, then everything behind it including that special nut, then lay it down on the ground and you have to pull the abs ring and knock out each wheel stud to pull the rotor off. then reverse that to put it together.

Not so much. Any 4x4 TTB equipped 80-96 fullsize Ford will require the entire hub/rotor assembly to be removed from the truck and seperated.

To the OP, get a Haines manual. It will outline everything real well.

If you have one of these trucks and it sees mud and water alot, you get to where you can tear the front axle down to spindles, repack bearings and reassemble in under an hour.

Or you should anyway.

Thats exactly how it came apart.. wasn't the easiest thing. I happened to break one of the lock rings. unfortunetly they wanted like 90 bucks for the kit that comes with it.. so i made mine so it would work and stuck it back in there for another term of duty.. while at work tomorrow im thinking of tearing the whole right side apart and replacing wheel bearings, ball joints and tie rod ends..

Could be talkin' bout the few late '87 thru early '89's that were ordered with manual hubs and look like this...

No difference in what I was talking about Adrian. Still has to be removed and seperated...
