Long Starts

I just bought a 1995 F-150 Supercab, the truck runs perfect, however getting it to actually start is sometimes an adventure. I turn the key and it just turns over for maybe 10-15 seconds, then finally starts up. I just replaced the ECM, Cap, Rotor, And all plugs. could this be maybe a fuel issue? Or is it a Spark issue? I'm stumped

turn the key on and off a couple times before you crank it to prime the fuel system.

It more than likely is a fuel drain down issue. Do as "Matts ford" says and if it starts right you will know that is it.
If it is a drain down issue you may also have a cross feed problem (bad check valve in the FDM). If so you will fill one tank while driving on the other and fuel can start spilling out and become a fire hazard.

FDM = Fuel Delivery Module inside the fuel tank.

i tried turning the key a couple times, but that didn't do anything. The drain down issue, should i try replacing the FDM? it seems like i only have the problem after i have drivin it, and then come back and start it back up while it is still warm.

That sounds like it was flooded by a leaky injector.

so one of the injectors is leaking fuel into the cylinder?

On a fuel injected engine when you go to WOT to start the engine that says you are trying to start a fuel flooded engine. WOT tells the computer to turn off the injectors while cranking.

Now about the only two ways fuel can get into an engine while setting is by a leaky injector or a bad FPR (ruptured diaphragm).

You can try pulling the vacuum hose off the FPR right after you turn off the engine or while it is running and see if any fuel comes out of the hose (or the nipple of the FPR), if it does the FPR is bad.
If no fuel out of the hose then more than likely you have a bad leaking fuel injector.

FPR = Fuel Pressure Regulator
WOT = Wide Open Throttle

How is your battery?
I had an old carborator truck that had long starts.
Put in a new battery and it started Wam/Bam, like a new truck.

There is only one vacuum hose at the FPR, it should be a red hose.

ok, so i checked the vacuum line and there is nothing coming out of either the line nor the nipple. How do i go about checking the injectors?

if you have a fuel pressure tester you could put it on when you get home and check the pressure in the morning. this way theres enough time for them to leak down enough for you to notice.

that won't eliminate a bad check valve in the fuel pump(s) which would cause the same long start problem until pressure built up, it would also read ~0 psi in the morning.
