1985 ford f150

Hi, I have a chance to buy a 85 ford f150 reg cab.
White
The good 4spd manual 4x4, 300 6 engine. White in color
The bad
It kinda rusty rust along the rear fenders, the cab corners on both sides rusted out. General surface rust on the body.
It would need 4 new tires, probably some brake lines and maybe brakes and a battery. Probably some other little things.
My use for the truck would be haul firewood, garbage to the dump and towing the jetski on the weekend.
The guy wants $400 for it probably get it for $350 do you think it is worth it.
I could do all the work myself since I am going to school for auto mechanics.
thanks

IMO it is worth it for what its going to be used for. the 4 spd trans isnt exactly going to give the best fuel economy though but the engine will run a long time. and if you ever change your mind then you can sell the transmission transfer case and differentials and such and get your money back. i'm sure you'll have problems here and there but it should be a pretty good truck as long as it has been maintaines well.

That isnt to bad of a deal. I just bought a 1982 F150 reg cab stepside 4x4 with the 300 straight 6 and a 4 speed manual, and the only thing mine needed was a power steering pump and I picked it up for $600
