I have a f-150 1988 model ford pickup, manual transmission straight 6 ,4.9 liter engine. Truck tries to crank, but does not fire off. Diagnostic code saids neutral pressure switch failure. Has anybody ever heard of this or what is it? Where is it located and what does it look like?

I don't have an EVTM for anything that old. Did Ford put a pressure sswitch in the clutch hydraulics to sense clutch engagement rather than just putting a position switch on the pedal linkage?

it's a little switch that sits on the clutch pedal like the brake light switch does

you can try a quick little test to see if that is the issue

1. buy 2 of those little inline wire splicers.
2. get about 6" of 18 guage wire
3. using the wire splicers and wire peice, jumper across the clutch switch
4. start truck

hope that is the issue
