79 F150 460 big block

Here is my problem, I was driving the truck when it started to power out no power now i got it home it still turns over has spark from the coil and has fuel i got new plugs wires distributer cap n rotor but will not start will jump every so often when turning over! i am lost!

You have spark from the coil, but do you have spark going through the spark plug wires? I suspect the ignition module.

I have power to the wires i bought some wire check things from pricess auto that go between the spark plug and wire and they light up a freind figures it might be the coil i have a couple of donner trucks on my farm i am going to give it a whirl he figures it's not producing enouph power to light it up so i'll give it a whirl in the mornin

Should have a nice blue spark across a gap.

What does "jump every so often" mean?
It tries to start?

ok i got everything changed up and now i have fuel flowing up out on top of my carburrator? and not starting or running like so lost!!

sounds like a stuck float in carb.

It was a stuck carb got that fixed and cleaned but still nothin is there any chance that cam is shot? to not be timed right how do you know what to look 4

no i dont think your cam wouyld be shot your cam bearings would go before that along with your main bearings. your distributor gear could be shot because it might be plastic and would then cause a horrible timing issue so id try pulling the distributor next.

disrtibutor gear was steel and the bearings are good i had to bring it in the timing chain is shot and i am no good at figuring out that stuff so Thanks for all the advise!
