I have a 94 F-150 X-Cab, 302 4x4 lifted with 38's. I have a causin who wants to trade a 1990 Crew-Cab f-350 Diesel Long Bed stock for my truck + $1000. His truck Body is straight and moto has 150,000+ miles. my truck is desent but could use little work on the body but the moto is strong and has just over 100,000 miles. I am looking at making the deal but want opinions from some truck/car guys/gals before I do.. I dont know much about diesels so any help would be greatful..

My daily driver is a '04 f-150 crew so gas prices right now is not an issue. I was looking at lifting it (if I trade)and putting some 38's or 42's on it.

I am wondering if this is a good deal or not.

Kinda seems like an "eye of the beholder" question. If you want a diesel as opposed to your 302 then the trade would be a pretty good deal assuming the truck is pretty clean. Compared the the 302, the diesel will be a lot torquier at lower RPM's, the main thing the 302 lacked was low-end.

 

If the 350 is SRW make the trade. If it is dually then skip it.

 

I'd do it either way, but i love those year diesels

 

remember the price of diesel. around here gas hit 379 for cheap stuff and deisel hit 461. that may be why he wants to trade.
