Dumb question - oil filter

Just don't start it and you shouldn't lose any more oil then whats in the filter .
Possibly using Mobil 1 or something of the sorts? Isn't that rated to like 10k miles or something ridiculous like that? I would imagine even if you dare go that long, filter changes would still be wise to do at regular 3k intervals. Just a guess though

haha!
Yeah, that's what I'm using, but I don't know if I'll do it, but I'm thinking about it. I got a while to go before I have change something. Just checkin' the mechanics of a filter-only change. And if I do, there's more of a reason to check the dipstick to make sure I don't need to QS, as we say in the pharmacy business.

You can change the filter without having all the oil drain out of the engine. Just make sure that you add 1 quart of oil.
Thats what I did when I ran Amsoil in my '99 Ranger. They said you could run the oil 12 months or 12,000 miles. After 6 months or 6,000 miles you were supposed to change the oil filter and add 1 quart of oil.
Personally, I would never again run an oil that long, but thats just my personal opinion...
