Wiper motor causing power spike!

Just when I thought that I had all the issues worked out with the wipers on my 94 F150, another problem comes up. The other night it started to rain, so I turned the wipers on and all of a sudden I see the head lights dim. I noticed that every time the wipers turn on the amp gauge on the dash drops to almost nothing for just an instant then goes back to normal and also the headlights dim. What could be causing this problem? Is it the wiper motor?

Thanks guys!!

I'd look at a short somewhere or bad multifunction switch.

Also, it's a "volt" gauge of sorts on the dash. Not amps.
