1977 f 100 460 c6 transmission

I am looking at a 1977 F 100 with a 460 and automatic.

It would need to be my daily driver. What kind of highway gas mileage could I expect with this truck? It is a 4x2 extended cab long bed.

I don't think its THAT bad - depending on rear gearing. We had a 77 Lincoln Town Car with a 460 and C6 and it got about 17 on the highway driving conservatively on cruise control. If you don't get at least 12, I'd start looking for reasons. In town and/or beating on it, single digits are very possible.

460s typically give slightly better fuel mileage than 351s unless you use that extra 109 cubes. Depending on gearing, you could see as much as 15-16 but I'd bank on 12-13 or better.
