Water Temperature Sensor Port

Sorry about the dirty/untidy looking engine. Haven't had time to clean it up and straighten everything out.

I was going to install the aftermarket water temperature sensor where the blue vacuum port on the left front of the manifold is. Coolant comes out of there (which is why it is wet there, I loosened it to check). I will probably just remove the yellow and green ones while I am at it and plug those holes.

Is that an OK spot to install it?

If you want to retain the factory gauge, that's fine, but the actual sender for the gauge is to the right of the distributor (when looking at the engine) with a single wire attached to it. That's where I hook mine to.

Mine is a mechanical gauge, and I am looking to retain the factory gauge because I cannot stand dead gauges. I went to put it in that spot, and I still haven't had time to find the right size adapter.

Thanks for the confirmation though!
