Radiator Hose Rubbing

I'm having some issues with my upper radiator hose rubbing against the power steering pulley. Last month, it rubbed completely through the hose and coolant started pouring out. So, I replaced the hose and now I'm noticing that its beginning to rub again.

Is this a common problem or is there something I can do to avoid this?

Same problem

I have the same problem. A lot of new hoses are made to fit a lot of applications and don't fit any particular one exactly. On my 302 I believe it hit the idler pulley

I replaced the hose and tried to trim the end to move it away from it. It helped but there was still some contact elsewhere. When I bought my truck, someone had used a long zip tie to attach the hose to the air intake hose. The radiator hose had worn some at some point. It worked at keeping the hose off the pulley and doesn't look too bad out of place.

I did the same thing after my new hose was too close and it seems to be working.
