Which blue book value are you using? The seemingly favorite Kelley Blue Book (www.kbb.com) always seems to come in way high. Try Edmunds (www.edmunds.com) or NADA (www.nadaguides.com) - getting from $1400 - $2500 sale value. Or call your local bank.
Consider what you have put into it. Even if you put on all the miles since it was purchased, the maintenance costs alone are over $0.10 per mile. She should take this into consideration.
Some of the performance and general maintenance stuff you should eat as part of driving it - but the bigger stuff like brakes, water pump, exhaust - should figure into the sale price since it came out of your pocket.
Or, just slap a For Sale sign on it for $6K - heck, if you get it - wow. If not, it should serve as a reality check. Either way, you should get something back for the larger dollar maintenance costs.

$6k? She's out of her mind. That generation of Ford trucks are everywhere, and as such, sell for dime-a-dozen prices. I bought my truck, '93 XLT every option, 351 motor with top end rebuild, flawless auto, 4wd, minor rust, and 125k miles, super clean interior. Paid $1800 for it.
Supersport is right, 2wd is a major "real-world" deduction off trucks. While on bluebook 4wd adds value, people really expect that and will only pay less for 2wd.
Tell her to try and get 6k for it. Come back in a few months, act surprised it didn't sell, and offer her $2500 tops. Go to a dealer, you'd be lucky to get more than a grand for it.
Tell her to look at want ads...see what these trucks are really going for.

i understand you have done a lot of stuff to the truck, and i agree that she is crazy to think 6K, but nonetheless, it is HER truck, that she lets you drive.
good luck to you.

my only argument to that is that.. #1 I never treated her bad.. and #2... if she sold it somewhere else.. should I get money out for fixing up "her" truck? She says those are just maintenence prices you know.. like "everyone has to get their cars fixed when stuff happens" but.. its not my car.. so if I wanted to drive it to school and work and college 30 mins away that she signed me up for my senior year.. I have to pay all the money I make working and put into her truck that she will in the end make money out of it. I don't get it..
why would I put all my money into a car that im only going to drive for 2-3 years then lose all I put in for that other stuff..
