Always interested in why the conversion?
EFI is such an improvement over carbs for the everyday user, just can't imagine why one would want to go backwards to a carb setup.
Will lose a lot of the diagnostic and control capabilities of the computer with the conversion, as well as some of the gasoline efficiency.

for 1. i'm swapping engines ( a non efi 302 from early 70's) and dont feel like hooking up all the crap back up. 2 i've been dealing wiht carbs forever i know how they work and can fix them wiht a 99cent screwdriver and not a $400 programmer.
i just like the simplicity of a carb. this is going to be a beater truck. to get me to school on snowy days not a gas saver. i'm running exhaust stacks and the biggest tires i can use with a 4" lift.

My opinion follows wde because your '93 only needs a 5cent paperclip to find and fix computer codes. The high end scan tools don't really tell you any more for the EEC-IV system.
Anyway, your gauges are driven by the computer, so no go making those work with a carb. Not really sure on how to use the EFI fuel system for a carb setup either.
Is this a manual truck? Or are you gonna run a C6 or AOD?

from what i saw the engine wiring is stand alone from anything else. i'm leaving everything intacked just cutting all the
F.I stuff off the harness.
i'll still hook all the gauge wiring back up. just not any of the F.I stuff...
might even get rid of the gauges and use some aftermarkets i have since when i parked the truck 1/2 the gauges didnt work.
if the engine i have works out well.. i'll end up swapping the cam next year which wont work with EFI anyways.
just want to use what i know.
ALOT of the mustang guys do the same thing.... its just easier. with no electrical gremlins to chase down.
