Straight axle conversion
Hey guys, I have a question. I just bought a 90 f150(shortbed/cab and 5.0) I'm planning of making a budget trail rig with it with some left over parts from past rigs. I have a mid 80's blazer parts truck (4wd) with a dana 44 up front. Now I'm wanting to convert my 90 f150 I bought to straiht axle. I'd like to use the front axle, leafsprings and ect from the blazer under the ford. Are the pumpkins in the correct spots so i can just install some shackles from the blazer on the f150 frame and make this a "simple" swap? or am i better off looking for an older f150/bronco and making this swap possible?
I'm not planning on running much of a lift, I'll be taking everything but the cab off the frame and running a mostly tube "Body" on the truck. I already have the tires and wheels (38" boggers rear and Tsl's for the front) is there anysort of advice you guys could give me? I am used to working on ramchargers and blazers for the most part.
