Bought new tires today... Any tips to reduce front end tire wear?

Shopped around on TireRack and the Firestone Destination A/T's got great reviews. Rack had them for $104 a tire. My cousin Girlfriend works at a Firestone Master Care, she did better with the price and gave them to me for $89... she called it a Military Discount!

I love the way they look and ride. I will give a better report after I get some miles on them and with winter coming.

Anyone have the same tire?

I had the front end aligned and needed a camber kit for the left side. Beside rotations, any tips on reducing front end tire wear?

Buy adjustable camber bushings (so you don't have to buy new ones every time) and get the Firestone lifetime alignment. Then abuse it - get it aligned every few months. If you get ANY irregular tire wear, it'll be Firestone's problem.

Also front shocks. The Ford front suspensions have lots of unsprung weight, lots of tendency for the tail to wag the dog. Good shocks, good bushings and joints, good alignment and frequent rotation are the keys to acceptable tire life.

I just picked some up to put on the 93 before it was sold. They did great for how inexpensive they were ($92 each) and rode fairly well. Funny, they had to add a camber kit to the right side of mine.

Shocks (no matter how bad they are) don't cause irregular tire wear. Irregularly-worn tires cause accelerated shock wear.
