AC problems...

weird scenario....Every time I accelerate in my truck...or it seems going up hill as well (a Florida hill at that), and only in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear, my ac blower cuts out.

As soon as I resume a steady speed/RPM, I can actually hear a "FLOP" like a valve or flap is opening, and everything is okay again.

Any ideas on what's up?

I noticed my truck did the same thing, although I don't really run the AC much being in Oregon. I figured it might be some nifty feature to give extra horsepower to the wheels and not the ac condenser or something. Though it will be interesting to hear from someone that knows what they are talking about.

Check to see if your airflow is diverting to the windshield, not cutting out. If so, you have the all-so-common vaccum leak.

Alternatively, certain vehicles have the capability to have the clutch cut off under certain load conditions. I haven't checked the schematics for either of your trucks, but if you have a relay for the compressor clutch, then it's possible that the computer is shutting off the compressor to free up a few ponies.
